Tiger & Bamboo Kasuri Sheet | Japanese Indigo Cotton

This sheet was created with Kasuri (絣) a Japanese ikat technique that uses thread resisted and dyed before weaving to create the pattern.  When the pattern is complex and figurative it is called E-Gasuri - picture kasuri.   In this case the figure is of a tiger in bamboo, a symbol of sanctuary.
