Kasuri 絣 is the Japanese style of ikat, where the threads of the material are resist-dyed before being woven. This piece is specifically e-gasuri (picture kasuri) as the image created is recognizable. This is a complete futon with the stuffing removed.  The border and back are complete.  The crane and tortoise are both longevity symbols.
